I would recommend the calcium and magnesium supplements!
A great product to have in your wellness arsenal.
This product is designed for those with additional calcium needs, such as vegans or those who eat a restricted or dairy-free diet.
Inessa Calcium & Magnesium is designed to be taken alongside any daily multivitamin, as you need relevant amounts of vitamins D and K to aid with absorption. We do not advise using this product alone.
If you are taking prescribed medication or have a medical condition, you should always check with your doctor first and read the information leaflet with your medicine(s) for contraindications.
It helps maintain healthy bones and muscles as we age. It’s vital for digestive enzyme function and even neurotransmission. But while science tells us that calcium’s a true health superhero, we should never forget that it has a trusty sidekick - magnesium.
Magnesium plays its own role in maintaining a healthy skeleton, enabling the small mineral crystals in our bones to increase in density and gain strength. It’s also a great stress reliever that helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. But that’s not the only benefit to this magical mineral.
Without the balancing presence of the right amount of magnesium, calcium can turn from health superhero to toxic supervillain, building up in soft tissues, kidneys and arteries instead of where you need it most.
So when it comes to supplements, calcium and magnesium are one dynamic duo that should never be apart!
Maintaining normal bones and muscles is vitally important to your health. But if you’re following a vegan diet or you’re avoiding dairy for other reasons, you could become deficient in calcium if you don’t eat enough calcium-rich or calcium-fortified foods.
And sadly, due to the nature of modern agriculture, the soil in which our plants are grown may now be a lot less rich in magnesium than they were in our grandparents’ day.
Designed to work alongside your daily multivitamin, Inessa’s Calcium & Magnesium can address these nutritional gaps in your healthy vegan or dairy-free diet. Taken every day they’ll give you the peace of mind that you’re doing all you can to keep strong and healthy as you age.
“People sometimes ask why we don’t put calcium and magnesium in our multivitamin products. Others on the market do sometimes add these minerals in token amounts to make the product look more complete. But to include a relevant amounts of calcium and magnesium to make a real difference to health, would leave no room in the tablet for anything else! Additionally, not everybody needs to be supplementing with calcium.
We’ve added this supplement to our collection to help support people with additional calcium needs, such as those on a vegan or dairy-free diet. Additionally, sourcing a calcium and magnesium supplement without extra vitamins and minerals to use as a bolt-on alongside a pregnancy multinutrient, is also a challenge I encountered when I was expecting - I didn’t want to be doubling up on nutrients that were already present in my pregnancy product. There was only one supplement of this kind available on the market at the time, and it was costly and difficult to get hold of. It’s designed to be taken in conjunction with a daily multivitamin, as you also need relevant doses of vitamins D and K to help your body absorb these minerals.
I’m proud that our product is derived from pure, natural seaweed and seawater, ethically and sustainably sourced, and in forms that are readily absorbed by the body.”
Traditional calcium products come in the form of ‘mineral salts’ such as limestone - a rock! These may be natural, but they tend to be poorly absorbed by the body and have even been shown to have some negative health effects. That’s why the calcium in our supplement is made from a sustainably sourced, calcified seaweed from a species called lithothamnion, harvested from Iceland.
We use a natural seawater source of magnesium citrate, derived from the clean waters off the Irish coast.
No. The seaweed is naturally dried in the sun then steamed to clean and purify it without the need for harsh chemicals. The seaweed is then ground and sifted into a fine powder ready for encapsulation. The seawater is evaporated in a natural process to concentrate the mineral salts. These are then purified with water to remove chloride, leaving the natural magnesium.
The powdered seaweed is passed through magnets to remove any heavy metals, plus it undergoes rigorous heavy metal and microbial testing.
Take one to three capsules per day with food, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Do not exceed the recommended intake. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Inessa Calcium & Magnesium is deemed safe for most people but if you are taking prescribed medication or have a medical condition, you should always check with your doctor first and read the information leaflet with your medicine(s) for contraindications.
